Bat Flash and Bat Storm. Coplay Superheroes who fight crime. |
The all new, 3D, iClone animated, reboot of my popular GoAnimate series is coming. Below is my second teaser trailer after my Robert Pattinson Suit Test parody trailer.
This second trailer is a scene for scene remake of the original first trailer created for GoAnimate more than ten years ago.
If you like what you see here and want to help me develop Bat Storm into an ongoing animated web series check out my Patreon which helps to cover the cost of voice actors and other production costs.
Huge thanks to Barrie McDermid for voicing all the characters on this one. Check out his website for his voice work and other creative services at:

Behind the Scenes
Usually I would give a detailed rundown of any points of interest in the creation of my trailers but nearly every scene in this particular trailer is one or more characters speaking dialogue.
Probably the most tricky scene was the opening one, where Bat Storm lifts a criminal by the neck. It's not perfect but I feel I did enough to make it seem like Bat Storm put a little bit of effort into that lift.
Other than that, below is a series of images showing the wide shots of each scene in iClone. What I want you to take away is how each scene only has the bare minimum of props needed to create the location. Basically if it's not seen on camera leave it out.
Behind the Scenes in iClone 7. |
When designing sets in iClone it is easy to get lost in fleshing out the entire world of a location (I'm guilty of doing this too) just in case you want to use a different part or angle of the set in the future.
It's really not necessary. Save yourself time and computing power by only including what will actually be seen on camera in your scene. You can always build out the scene later if you do actually use it again.
Since this is an ongoing project I will get more into the character animation in future behind the scenes posts as I learn more about iClone myself (This is maybe only my fourth or fifth animated short created in the application at this point).
If you want to see the really detailed behind the scenes work then consider becoming a Patreon.
